Tasting Notes:

Deep garnet-red color; complex aromas of black and dried cherry, exotic spices including clove, star anise, menthol, spearmint, citrus peel and freshly turned earth. On the palate, medium- to full-bodied, with flavors of plums and pie cherries, and hints of pimento. Firm acidity (courtesy of the 2012 vintage), and ample tannin (inherent in the grape, and augmented by the the additional varieties of the blend), make for a wine suitable for pairing with flavorful cuisine, or for long-term aging.
