Animale 2008 Syrah Label

Reviews: 2008 Syrah

Wine Enthusiast - Paul Gregutt - October 2011

Paul Gregutt, Waitsburg, WA wine writer for both the Wine Enthusiast and the Seattle Times, wrote a nice note on the ANIMALE 2008 Syrah in the fall 2011 issuse of the Wine Enthusiast:

"Animale 2008 Syrah Yakima Valley - Review: This is 100% Syrah is quite ripe, with alcohol at 15.6%; yet not over-ripe or raisiny. Rather, the fruit is like a blackberry compote, concentrated and bursting with the essence of berries and a pleasing pastry note. Along with the tangy acidity and earthy tannins, it makes for a complex and compelling Syrah. - P.G.
Rating: 90

Wines Northwest - March 17, 2011

Venerable Seattle wine writer Chuck Hill named ANIMALE 2008 Syrah a Wine of the Week in a 3/17/11, the third column in a three-part series on Syrah:

"Animale 2008 Syrah Yakima Valley - Washington's most famous micro-winery once again scores with a spectacular Syrah. The grapes for the wine came from Crawford Vineyard near Prosser, Washington, and what grapes they must have been. Big aromas of blueberry, cherry, floral perfume, citrus and cocoa lead to a rich palate of cherries, dark chocolate, lime zest, tobacco and barrel spice. This huge wine still offers finesse and a little youthful coyness. Track some down at the winery website:
