Animale 2009 Petit Verdot Label

Review: 2009 Petit Verdot

Robert M. Parker Jr.'s Wine Advocate - October, 2011

2009 Petit Verdot - 92 points

The ANIMALE 2009 Petit Verdot was highly recommended by Wine Advocate Washington Wine reviewer Dr. Jay Miller in the October 2011 issue:

2009 Petit Verdot:

The 2009 Petit Verdot is a sure thing. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it sports an impressive bouquet of exotic spices, violets, incense, and blackberry. This sets the stage for a concentrated, robust, intense, nicely proportioned wine that will benefit from 4-5 years of additional cellaring. It should see its 20th birthday in peak form. Animale Winery opened its doors in 2001 and now produces a mere 200 cases of what appears to be no-holds-barred wine. Cat fanciers will be pleased by the artist renditions of various felines on the labels.
